Groundwater below the Wakehurst Parkway and Warringah Rd intersection was identified during project conception as low pH and required to be separated from the stormwater drainage system, pumped and treated (pH adjusted) for safe discharge into the sewer connection point at Fitzpatrick Ave as per the Sydney Water trade Waste Agreement.

  1. Supply and installation of a prefabricated in-ground 2.4dia x 5.5m deep concrete wet well (x2)
  2. Connection to the groundwater DN225 inlet gravity drain, including isolation valve, pipe penetration into the wet well and an open-top drop pipe.
  3. Supply and installation of two Xylem submersible pump units, complete with discharge pipes and fittings, in the pump station wet well. Each pump incorporates power and signal cables, discharge bends, stainless steel lifting chain and motor bridle, stainless steel guide bars and top and intermediate guide bar brackets.
  4. Supply and installation of the trafficable wet well covers and frames including internal safety mesh.
  5. Supply and installation of discharge piping from the western wet well pump station, to the dosing plant shed.
  6. Supply and installation of a high-level overflow pipe from the wet well to the stormwater drainage pit.
  7. Supply and installation of all non-return valves, isolating valves, tapping points, female camlock for tanker truck connection, and Siemens MagFlow flowmeter to monitor compliance with Sydney Water’s Trade Waste Agreement. Valving shall be installed inside dosing plant shed.
  8. Supply and installation of Prominent dosing plant equipment, complete with two metering diaphragm pumps, two electrically actuated valves to control recirculation of groundwater for pH adjustment and two 200 L drums for storage of 30% w/v caustic soda solution.
  9. Supply and installation of bypass pipework with female camlock valve inside the dosing plant shed for tanker truck connection to permit maintenance.
  10. Supply and installation of recirculation and drain pipe from dosing plant shed to the wet well.
  11. Supply and installation of a drop pipe and gravity connection to the existing Sydney Water sewer maintenance hole.
  12. Supply and installation of electrical equipment, power, control, instrumentation and communications cables, junction pillar and controls for the pump station.
  13. Supply and installation of electrical equipment, power, control instrumentation and communication cables for dosing plant.
  14. Supply and installation of a rain gauge mounted on a bracket and located on top of the shed roof, 100mm clear of the roof cladding.
  15. Supply and installation of all cabling between the dosing equipment, pumping station, rain gauge and Siemens MagFlow flowmeter, and controllers.
  16. Supply and installation of an authority meter panel and electrical distribution board.
  17. Supply and installation of power cables between Ausgrid connection point, meter panel, distribution board, dosing plant control panel and pump station control panel.
  18. Extension of existing DN50 water service, and installation of two DN32 backflow prevention devices, water meter and isolation valves inside a vandal proof enclosure for wet well washing down, safety shower and dosing plant shed wash down.
  19. Installation of all sanitary fixtures inside dosing plant shed. This includes hand wash basin and cold-water tap, safety eyewash / shower, and associated drainage
  20. Commissioning of the pump station, dosing equipment, and associated infrastructure.
  21. Inspection testing and commissioning in accordance with manufacturers’ requirements
  22. Preparation of Work As Executed drawings and Operating and Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  23. Provision of onsite training for the operation and maintenance of the infrastructure. (following DLP)
  24. Provision of chemicals for commissioning and handover of the plant.
