What type of filter should you choose?

• Strainer or Cartridge filter

  Probably the most common filtration type  around the home to physically prevent debris or solids from blocking delicate items. Can remove colour taste and odour from rainwater. Affordable and easy to maintain and can have an automated backwash function incorporated become self cleaning.

• Bag filters

  Generally a much finer aperture and often used as stage 2 screen and disc filtration and before UV disinfection. Bags can be washed and reused depending on the water. A simple line of defense usually 1micron to 50micron.

• UV Steriliser

  Using amalgam or UV lamps installed in inline tubes. Water passes through the tube and is exposed to high levels of UV to nuke bacteria and pathogens within the water. Pre-filtration is key to ensure high transmission (transmissivity) of light. Contact time is also critical to ensure the UV light has had time to do the job.
