Christison Park Project Overview

Scope of works

  • Stormwater is harvested from Old South Head rd Street drain which captures a series of natural springs and overland flows from the parklands and surrounding streets.
  • Water is pre-screened through a modified GPT offtake with trash screen before entering the transfer pump station.
  • The water is pumped at a rate of 10l/s via a unique rotoflush pump which prescreens the water to 300micron before transferring to the 55kl header tank where it is stored for irrigation.
  • Harvested water is delivered to irrigation via a 5kw VSD irrigation pump and filtered by way of backwash screen filter before being UV Dosed and delivered direct to irrigation.
  • A new pop up irrigation system was also installed in replacement to the subsurface drip irrigation system which has proved to be unreliable and costly over time.

Stage 2 of this project will commence shortly with irrigation of the final 2 fields and upgrade of the storage tank to capture more ‘free’ stormwater’

“ Amazing views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge makes this coastal elevated sportsfield worthy of significant Council investment. ”
