Water is harvested via a new offtake in the existing stormwater culvert at the southern end of Doyle Ground with grated sump, formed and poured in the floor of the culvert. Water is drained under gravity through a Rocla CDS 0708 gross pollutant trap to strain rubbish and sediment from the water. From here the water enters the pump station and is transferred to the plantroom filtration.

A precast concrete bunker style underground plantroom with sump and fan forced ventilation to house the filtration and control equipment.

Scope of works

  • Installation of a new cast in situ sump to the existing 1500mm diameter box culvert to divert storm water base flows at the southern end of Doyle Ground to divert captured water to the tanks.
  • Installation of a new CDS 07/08 gross pollutant trap unit and new concrete pump station, to pump 1L/s of diverted flows to a new filter and UV disinfection system installed in an underground plantroom.
  • Installation of a 107kL underground storage tank which will store the treated flows ready for irrigation requirements.
  • All spoil to be transported to nearby sportsfield for releveling and landscaping
  • Demolition of the existing 20kL header tank and relocation nearby sportsfield for additional storage.
  • Installation of a new irrigation pump and controls to deliver the stored water through a new DN125mm rising main to the existing irrigation systems
  • A new Rainbird IQ irrigation control system allows council to manage the irrigation system remotely.
